Ok, I had a difficult time not choosing the photo that matches these previous compositions. Let’s take a look.

This is often a difficult decision in the execution of this project. From day one, I put on a constraint on this project that one photo will be published (be featured, go to print, put in a book, etc.) from each sunrise.
In a scenario like this… do I choose:
A) The selected photo, which, to my knowledge, doesn’t really share the same characteristics of other photos that have been published, even though its a frequent location.
B) The other photo, which matches photos previously selected for the project. I like to see that similarity over time, and in this instance, spread across years, but all taken in April.
Which offers my authenticity to the project? Take these factors out, and which photo do I enjoy more? Do I ignore the weight of the other sunrise dates?
I don’t think there’s a right or a wrong answer. But there’s a choice I have to make just once, and then its done.
Maybe, long into the future when I’m out of ideas, I’ll make a triptych of these various repeat compositions.
