Musings [164 words]

In hindsight, I should have published this photo.

In short, it’s nothing fancy. There’s no choice of depth of field being made. No long exposure. No tripod. No getting on the ground to get under or above the ice. No consideration of rule-of-thirds. Just a photo, on the way back from sunrise.

There are a lot of photos of this project like this, and they often mean a lot more to me than the photos that the public sees. They provide a lot more context to all these places I stand and walk past on my way to and from sunrise, where I see the shadows and reflections, how the sun interacts with the surroundings, though I’m just passing by.

I could probably right an essay about this staircase alone, the number of times I’ve walked this set of stairs in all seasons, and usually trying not to fall on my face in the winter.

Sometimes, its the simple snapshot that says the most.
