Being a project that is quite literally about the sun, and in the interest of keeping this condensed, I’ll make the assumption that it is obvious that each solstice carries a little extra significance against all the other sunrises.

If for no other reason, the biggest significance for the purposes of this project is that it signals when I get to start sleeping again, or when I have to start waking up earlier.

Spiritually, the solstice offers an added opportunity to lean in a little more, ever so slightly. It’s a little extra motivation to put in the required effort that given morning, to feel a few extra feelings, to acknowledge just how small I am as Earth spins toward the sun each day.
