As the creator of 906 Day, September 6 has always been circled as an important date on the calendar. Even more meaningful, is how others have recognized this date and asked what I’ll be doing for 906 Day. Of course the best, is when they celebrate it themselves, by taking a sauna, supporting their local pasty shop, or getting up to some other shenanigans in the Upper Peninsula.

The first of these sunrises in 2019 was a big one, I set out to make it monumental, a sunrise beneath the Mackinac Bridge. As it goes, it was nothing but a drizzle all day, but one of the most memorable sunrises to date.

Hoping to try again in future years.
