Musings [128 words]

No matter how much beauty is in front of you, don’t forget to look behind you.

To my knowledge, this is the first and only full rainbow I have seen at sunrise. With the soft drizzle of warm rain it was absolutely perfection on a quiet country road. It was three minutes of bliss, maybe five.

There may have been other rainbows, but rarely do I have a clear view to the horizon in both directions. If there’s ever been a rainbow while facing sunrise, the opposite view has most likely been obscured by trees in which I would have never seen it.

It’s not quite my double rainbow moment, but it was certainly my full rainbow moment.

This makes up for my mistakes of September 24, 2019.

To use the rainbow photo or to not use the rainbow photo? It’s a difficult question. As a composition, I’m still drawn to this view looking down an empty country road toward the sun, as stunning as the rainbow was. If I had a lens wide enough to capture the full rainbow, and my car wasn’t parked right there, I might have considered otherwise.
