Musings [198 words]

I thought I would go with a different photo to publish this morning. But looking back, I like this version looking east with the full Capitol in view.

Initially I thought I would favor these two, entirely for their sentimental factor.

While living a few blocks away, I spent countless hours on these steps, except the view as at dusk and night rather than earlier version of golden hour.

Those evenings were spent running steps, up and down up and down, seemingly having the entire Capitol property to myself. Just the occasional security guard who would sometimes offer a slight wave.

On those evenings, I always approached the Capitol from the southeast corner of the property, always seeing these view with the evening lights.

It was special to return, paying homage to a special era of my life.

With Michigan Ave running east/west, I was hoping for a clear view of the sunrise, which I had, just without sun. In hindsight, I took a liking to this photo of the Capitol blocking what would be the view of the sun.

I hope to get back here on a bright morning with the sun rising directly down Michigan Avenue.
