In Hindsight
As of the 2023 beach restoration project, this beloved tree and bench are now gone. At least the tree is. The bench now lays there broken, frozen in the ground. I happened to be there just this morning, November 26, 2024.
I’m a little sad about it, and hope to return in the spring when it thaws and take it home with me.
I spent this morning’s sunrise thinking about what random things might mean to people. Most things mean something to someone, however seemingly small. I’m not saying anything different should have happened here, but I think keeping that in mind, it’s a healthy way to always be moving toward compassion and empathy.
… Upon further inspection, the tree had already come down as a result of beavers. Please see December 26, 2023.
