Yet again, this was another difficult photo edit. Let’s look back to January 31, 2019. Now in my second year, there’s been a number of instances where I’ve thought, “Well, I’m in the same location of that one photo I love, lets see if I can recreate it.”
This morning in January was one of the most memorable, primarily because it was perhaps the coldest sunrise of the year and I also had some good company. Turns out, it was a beautiful sunrise as well.
Returning almost two years later, standing at the same vantage point, I tried to recreate the photo from memory. It was pretty close, judge for yourself.
The crop was slightly off, facing south ever so slightly, but I am delighted to see how nicely aligned the rocks are and that the sunburst is directly between the same trees. From this vantage point, it happened to be a nice coincidence that was in the same location during the second time of year the sun rises between these trees.
For more reason than one, it’s a nice little touch that the lens flare creates a little red heart.
In the end, I made the decision to go with another photo to represent the morning.
