Musings [124 words]

In 2019, I was staying in Metro Detroit to attend TEDxDetroit. By chance, it happened to fall a couple days before November 10, the significance being that it’s the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. To pay my respects, I had the opportunity to attend the service at Mariner’s Church that recognizes all lives lost on the Great Lakes. It is also the church that originated the chiming of teh bells, 29 times. Also fitting for a Sailor.

To continue the tradition, I thought this anniversary would be best spent revisiting Whitefish Point. It turned out to be a nice homage that was an ore freighter in the very direction the Fitzgerald went down. On this day, however, Superior was relatively calm.
