While I gravitate toward some of these other photos, this is the photo I set out to take that morning, a tree I’ve loved my entire life. My frustration is I don’t have a full-frame censor, and my lens just isn’t quite wide enough to get the full width of the tree. Standing any further back and I’d be standing in the middle of US-41 and I believe you’d see the gaurd rail just out of frame to the left of the photo. It was a difficult choice to make, but this one has the most meaning, it was the destination, and still captures some of the spirit of a Baraga winter with people heading out to ice fish.
