This morning didn’t suck. It was remarkable, and it was a day where I was expecting nothing but gray. I even slept in a few extra minutes feeling there was no early morning color to rush off too.
So that was quite delightful. But when the morning doesn’t suck, the photo still does. It’s never as good as it is with the naked eye. And while most mornings I take time to sit and soak it in and set my camera down, I had a small window of color this morning and sort of forgot to do that. So I’m left with photos from a morning where I didn’t soak it in the moment the way I should I have, even if it were just a few minutes.
I have great difficulty in seeing a photo so doctored that I know it didn’t look like that with the naked eye. My hope is to produce an honest of an image as possible, something that looks just as it looked when standing there and feeling the wind in your face. No added grain or VSCO post editing to make the photo look like it was taken on a film camera. I’ll guess I’ll never be popular on Instagram, but I’m left with a lot of photos I’d love on my wall, because it’s a honest view of nature.
