Musings [116 words]

Today will be my seventh consecutive year spending 4th of July on Mackinac Island. It’s certainly not something I would have predicted years ago when I first competed in the amateur division of the Mackinac Island Stone Skipping Tournament. There are countless other things I’d like to also be doing on the 4th, but gosh darnit, I’m going to win the professional division one of these years.

However, this whole sunrise thing started from another tradition, one I’m considering killing because I started to put tradition before people, and for the sake of what? I’m not saying Mackinac is there yet, but one year it could be.

And that’s all I’ve got to say for now.

Fuel more Sunrises

There is plenty more to come from Year of the Sunrise. You can always add a cup of coffee to keep me going strong in the mornings, or a tank of gas to get me to some new places, as the sun keeps rising.
