Musings [129 words]

Creating FOMO, or in this case, creating FOMTS (Fear Of Missing The Sunrise). The fear of missing out has taken a comfortable place in society thanks to social media. But it’s not all bad. Several times a year I see someone post a photo of the Northern Lights. FOMO sets in. With the early mornings and earlier bedtimes I might miss a few showings of the lights, but I won’t miss a sunrise. After a week it feels that FOMTS is settling into place, and it’s a pretty healthy motivation. My FOMO has certainly never been driven by whatever crazy thing happened in the NFL last Sunday or what happened Friday night at the bar. But sunrises, sunsets, inclement weather, auroras, snowstorms, monster waves, that’s what I fear missing.
