Musings [190 words]

Just now, I was at Babycakes to get my morning piece of quiche (today was sausage, red onion, and cheddar) and a coffee. On my way out I ran into Jake who was asking about sunrises. He asked some form of, “Will you keep going into next year?”

Suddenly, a pretty intense bit of sadness slapped me across the face. The prospect of this project coming to an end made me sad. December 31 is coming fast and seems too soon to end this. So I had the idea, 1,000 Sunrises has a nice ring and feel to it. That’s only an extra 1.74 years of sunrises. Ok, let’s not get carried away. But ok, let’s be realistic, that’s just as quickly as I thought of and acted on this project.

Each day, as the sun rises later and later, it is a little reminder that the year is coming to an end. There are still four full months, but it feels a lot more tangible that this project (so far as a year goes) will come to an end.

Three hundred sixty-five is a lot, but not really.

Fuel more Sunrises

There is plenty more to come from Year of the Sunrise. You can always add a cup of coffee to keep me going strong in the mornings, or a tank of gas to get me to some new places, as the sun keeps rising.
